7TH GRADE - EXPLORATION OF HEALTH OCCUPATIONS

7th Grade Pre-Requisite:                                                            Interest in the medical sciences and/or health care field, medical instructor’s approval, completion of 6th grade medical sciences, and 3.0 grade point average. 

Description:                                                                          This full year course exposes students to a wide variety of traditional medical careers and advanced concepts in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. It also employs problem solving and critical thinking skills in hands-on laboratory activities. Students will use the research capacities of the Internet to gain exposure to state of- the-art medical topics. Students will also participate & interact with guest speakers associated with various medical careers. Students will be doing several projects such as Anatomy & Physiology Mobiles and they will compile a portfolio of their work.
